Our small grants scheme enables groups and individuals to apply for up to £1,500 of funding to deliver projects that enhance and promote health and wellbeing within local communities.

Funding of £1472.27 was awarded from the Healthwatch for the project. *the Outdoor Activity Day was part-funded as part of this grant.
The project supported School-aged Children & Young People (CYP) who have autism (diagnosed or awaiting assessment) and the parent carers who support them. CLICK HERE

With the funding of £1345 from Healthwatch Staffordshire the Childhood Cancer Parents Alliance agreed to deliver the following:
The impact of Covid-19 on Carers of accessing Primary Care and/or hospital treatment delays or cancellations for themselves of the person they care for.

The idea of running a programme for local schools which supported pupils with anxiety after the pandemic, came about because a number of schools had told us that their pupils were struggling with their mental health since the pandemic. As a charity that already supports pupils in their mental and emotional wellbeing, we felt that this was something that we could work on specifically with pupils in the local area.

The project was to support people with Autistic Spectrum Conditions and secondary mental ill health who identified as suffering due to the impact of COVID. Through one-to-one meetings to receive specialist life coaching in the form of practical strategies and through discussion via zoom, face to face who had completed a survey to identify y as struggling to understand themselves and to improve their mental well-being in the face of pandemic.

SAGE Staffordshire was fortunate to receive a grant from Healthwatch Staffordshire and Engaging Communities to research how Covid has impacted the way LGB&T+ people access Primary Care, Hospital Treatment, and Mental Health Services, this can also be for carers of LGB&T+ people.

This project aimed to overcome isolation and improve the mental health and well-being of those in need within the veteran’s community. This project provided funds to undertake veterans check-ins’ and peer support utilising telephone calls or for those who are able, utilise technology to provide support.
