Healthwatch Leicester and Healthwatch Leicestershire Impact of Covid-19 and New Models of Care
When it comes to accessing health and social care, your views really do count.
Irrespective of your identity, where you live, your ability, or background, the Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted a range of health inequalities and access barriers. Over the last year the way people access health and social care has changed dramatically. Increasingly, more models of care are being developed and some delivered online.
The purpose of this priority is to:
examine how people are accessing health and social care
assess which of those models of care people prefer
make recommendations based on the end-user experience
The project will engage with groups via online sessions, 1:1 and surveys with specific cohorts of people, to include:
learning disabilities and non-visible disabilities
carers and unpaid carers
young people
people with long term conditions
those using mental health services for the first time
people who have treatments or appointments cancelled or postponed
those with young children to see if there are concerns around child development
housebound patients
accessing other services e.g. NHS dentist, outpatients, cancer
We are working in partnership with Healthwatch Rutland who will deliver activities across Rutland.
