Bringing wellbeing to the workplace
Here at Engaging Communities Solutions (ECS) employee wellbeing is at the core of everything that we do, as we are a community interest organisation which works to create a culture of inclusiveness, openness, and support within the workplace.
This week we held our first employee wellbeing event at the Wolseley Centre, a beautiful tranquil location, tucked away in the Staffordshire countryside, run by Staffordshire Wildlife Trust. With the ECS teams dotted around the UK, it was a great achievement to have the teams all come together for a day of Mindfulness, yoga, and discussions to get valuable input to ensure our new Corporate Wellbeing Strategy is co-produced, meaningful and helps our staff to get a good work life balance and feel valued for the great work they do. The wellbeing day marked the start of a commitment to hold an annual wellbeing day in person, as well as a variety of other events and initiatives throughout the year as part of a framework for holistic health that reflects our long-term commitment to continue building a culture at ECS where health & wellbeing is a priority. It acknowledges that all aspects of health are interconnected and recognizes the importance of social health.
ECS is also a Mindful Employer. As a Mindful Employer, we recognise that in the UK, people experiencing mental ill health continue to report stigma and discrimination at work. Having signed the ‘Charter for Employers Positive about Mental Health’, we are committed to creating a supportive and open culture, where colleagues feel able to talk about mental health confidently and aspire to appropriately support the mental wellbeing of all staff.
