Busy summer at ECS – projects roundup
We have had a busy summer here at ECS with ongoing projects being brought to a close and new project being commissioned. More information about our current projects on https://www.weareecs.co.uk/current-projects
We finalised the work that we have been doing with Practice Plus Group to develop their family engagement strategy. As part of the work, we developed family forums in the West Midlands to provide opportunities for ongoing engagement between Practice Plus Group and families of patients to improve services and communication. Practice Plus Group are now looking at developing the approach across all eight regions that they operate in.
In late June we were commissioned by Wirral Council to undertake a thematic synthesis of existing public engagement as they develop their new health and wellbeing strategy. With very tight deadlines but great support from Wirral Council’s team, we were able to provide a draft report in July and followed this up with a further report in August.
Along with some other Healthwatch providers we have been commissioned by NHS England and Improvement to carry out focus groups with members of the Bangladeshi and Pakistani communities in Leicester; Sandwell; Stoke-on-Trent; and Walsall in relation to views on Covid and Flu Vaccination. This work is ongoing currently and is going to be delivered by the end of September.
We have also been successfully commissioned to deliver a Community Inquiry on Health Inequality in Stoke-on-Trent as well as focus groups on behalf of the new Staffordshire Integrated Care Board.
