Engaging Communities Solutions (ECS) celebrates achieving its third Investing in Volunteers (IiV) Accreditation Standard

On 1 March 2023, ECS was awarded the Investors in Volunteers Standard for a third time, demonstrating a strong culture of encouragement and support, to help individuals get involved and achieve their potential through volunteering!

The Investors in Volunteers Accreditation is the UK quality standard for good practice in volunteer management.

To secure the accreditation ECS’s Volunteers Service team were assessed against six quality areas:

  • Vision for Volunteering

  • Planning for Volunteers

  • Volunteer Inclusion

  • Recruiting and Welcoming Volunteers

  • Supporting Volunteers

  • Valuing and Developing Volunteers

Since 2015 when ECS first achieved the Investors in Volunteers (IiV) quality standard for excellence in volunteer management, there is no question that volunteering has evolved and as an organisation we have had to adapt to these changes.  There is one thing that has remained the same though, ensuring we provide a volunteering experience built on a strong culture of inclusivity, encouragement, and support, allowing everyone to realise their full potential.

Tracy Cresswell, Corporate, Partnerships and Volunteering Manager at ECS said: “Volunteers are at the heart of Team ECS, and we are delighted to continue our commitment to create a sector-leading volunteer experience for all ECS volunteers, by retaining the Investors in Volunteers standard. The attainment of the award is validation for the work we put into supporting, engaging, and rewarding over 100 fantastic volunteers we have within the organisation”.

Elizabeth Learoyd, Managing Director at ECS said:Successfully renewing our IiV standard doesn’t mean we pressed the pause button until the next time – there is always more that can be achieved.  We are committed to developing and improving our volunteering framework, investing in our volunteer’s future and skills because we know by doing so, we will enhance their experience.  We want to retain volunteers and strike new partnerships, build upon our established corporate relationships, and attract a diverse group of volunteers throughout our organisation.”

We are delighted to have achieved our third accreditation with Investing in Volunteers. A tremendous amount of work is carried out by volunteers at ECS, and so much of what we do would not be possible without them. This award is a real reflection of our commitment to ensuring volunteers have the best experience possible.
