Engaging Communities Solutions CIC (ECS) Celebrates Its 10-Year Anniversary
Engaging Communities Solutions CIC is proud to celebrate its 10th birthday! Established as an Independent Community Interest Company in 2012, called Engaging Communities Staffordshire CIC, the organisation has evolved and grown into a national organisation, leading to a rebranding in 2019 to our new name of Engaging Communities Solutions CIC to reflect the success of the organisation’s growth and continued success in delivering Healthwatch, Social Research, Engagement and Consultation services and Advocacy.
“We started this company to make a difference - and I believe we have made a difference,” said ECS Chair, Robin Morrison. I’m very proud to be the Chair of Engaging Community Solutions CIC and to be here celebrating our 10th anniversary in business.
When I started the company, I could never have envisaged the difference we would make on health and social care issues across the country with our Healthwatch contracts or the employment opportunities we would create. I am pleased to report we are still a vibrant business always seeking to expand our horizons and provide excellent customer service. Our staff are our greatest resource and I thank them for all their support and hard work.
We have always put the needs of the communities we serve first and supported them with our Community Benefit Fund grant scheme, giving back our trading surpluses to local community-based organisations and good causes. I look forward to our continued progress and our expansion into new markets.”
Reflecting on 10 years in business Elizabeth Learoyd, Managing Director of ECS said, “I take great pride in what we have been able to accomplish over the last decade. It would have been hard to believe that when we started the company with a handful of people, we would now employ over 50 people and have over 100 volunteers, supporting the amazing work we do in local communities throughout England. We have spent ten years inspiring change and improving outcomes for local residents, and we continue to play a key role in challenging and influencing social policies and practices to make our communities better places and help empower people to have a voice and influence in decisions about health and social care services which affect their lives.
For me, the significance of this milestone is more than just keeping the lights on. It means our clients and employees believe the work we do is valuable. Importantly, it validates our mission to ensure the voices of those who use public services are at the forefront of service design and delivery. I’ve also been very fortunate to find a talented group of colleagues who have been instrumental in our success. I’ve never been more optimistic about the future of ECS.”
To say that I am grateful and humbled by my team’s success over the past ten years would be an enormous understatement. I am equally grateful to all the people who supported us along the way. I am confident that with our continued success and growth, we will lead the development of inspiring community engagement initiatives through our community-based service delivery, with a focus on helping improve people’s lives, whilst giving back to local communities through our Community Benefit Fund.”
