Engaging Communities Solutions CIC signs the Armed Forces Covenant
Elizabeth Learoyd, Managing Director of Engaging Communities Solutions CIC (ECS), signed the covenant on behalf of the organisation to ensure employees of ECS who are serving personnel, reservists or veterans receive the correct support and recognition for the value they bring to the organisation. By signing the covenant, ECS, which is an independent Community Interest Company which delivers Healthwatch services in Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Sandwell, Leicester and Leicestershire, Warrington and Halton seek to uphold its principles by continuing to build links with local military communities.
Ms. Learoyd said: “It’s a great privilege for us to sign the Armed Forces Covenant.
We have many long-established military communities in many of the areas where we deliver our services, and we want to do our best to ensure that military personnel and their families can share their views on services and can get their voices heard through our delivery of Healthwatch. As an organisation, we want to show a commitment to supporting staff in the armed forces, veterans and their families in any way we can.”
The covenant is a pledge to acknowledge and understand that those who serve or who have served in the military, and their families, should be treated with fairness and respect. This will include supporting the employment of veterans, by working with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP), and assisting those who wish to join the reserve forces by accommodating their training and deployment.
