Healthwatch Bedford Borough have been in conversation with the lovely team at Bedford Borough Libraries in relation to their commitment to step up outreach in rural parishes in Bedford Borough.
Emma Freda, Chief Executive of Healthwatch Bedford Borough said: “We are now in a position to confirm that we'll be onboard the mobile library bus once a month starting next week, until Christmas, undertaking outreach and providing advice services on the following routes:
Friday 16th August:
Wilden/Colesden/Colmworth/Staploe/Roxton/Willington/Shortstown
Friday 6th September:
Little Staughton/Pertenhall/Bolnhurst/Keysoe/Swineshead/Yelden
Wednesday 2nd October:
Clapham/Stevington/Turvey
Thursday 7th November:
Souldrop/Wymington/Little Wymington/Podington/Odell/Felmersham/Radwell/Kempston
Monday 9th December:
Pavenham/Carlton/Harrold/Stagsden/Great Denham/Kempston Rural
We've also taken delivery of some rather snazzy magnetic signage for the vehicles to support the promotion of the Healthwatch Bedford Borough brand, and will be continuing our pledge to get around as many Parish Council meetings as we can this year. If you see us out and about give us a toot and a wave!”
This new initiative is as a result of the feedback received from stakeholders which identified the need for more rural engagement with the team at Healthwatch Bedford Borough making rural isolation one of their key strategic priority areas for 2024/25.
