Volunteers’ Week 2023: Celebrate and Inspire
Engaging Communities Solutions CIC (ECS) marks Volunteers’ Week 2023.
This year marks the 39th year of Volunteers’ Week (1-7 June), when ECS will join thousands of charities and voluntary organisations recognising the contribution volunteers make across the UK.
Volunteers' Week is an annual celebration of the contribution millions of people make across the UK through volunteering in their communities, with this year’s theme of ‘Celebrate and Inspire’ we hope to encourage people to be the change that we want to see and get involved in volunteering in whatever way works for them.
The theme for this year – ‘Celebrate and Inspire’ – aims to highlight that our diversity is our strength, show that there is more than one way to volunteer and encourage people to be the change that we want to see. The contribution of volunteers is often unseen and unrecognised by many, visible only through the incredible impact of their volunteering, so taking the time during Volunteers’ Week to celebrate their efforts and all they contribute to our local communities, the voluntary sector, and society has never been more important.
Corporate, Partnership, and Volunteering Manager, Tracy Cresswell said: “Volunteers are at the heart of Team ECS, Volunteers' Week is a chance to celebrate and recognise the fantastic contribution our volunteers make. I would like to thank all volunteers who generously give their time and efforts to support ECS and its network of ECS Healthwatch. I encourage everyone to take the time to appreciate our incredible volunteers for all they do and consider volunteering to help build stronger and more inclusive communities.”
Denise Hayward, Chief Executive at Volunteer Now commented: “Volunteers have continued to give so much time, energy, commitment and skills to the communities and organisations that they have supported however it is now more important than ever that we encourage more people to give a little bit of time to the wonderful organisations that make such a positive difference to our Northern Ireland community. It is fitting that Volunteers Week 2023 will give everyone the opportunity to Celebrate the ongoing commitment but also to encourage more people to say that all-important ‘yes’.”
