Hospital Discharge
Healthwatch Halton & Healthwatch Warrington are currently working with the NHS and want to hear from anyone who has been discharged from hospital, following an admission, in the last year.
This is your opportunity to share your experience. What worked well? What could have been better?
A lot of work in the planning of health and care services focuses on trying to make sure that people don’t stay in hospital any longer than they need to, because it is recognised that prolonged hospital stays can cause loss of independence and deterioration in a person’s health.
The project aims to hear people’s experiences of being discharged, as well as the support they have received once they left the hospital. It is also about hearing about the experiences from the point of view of family and friends who are such an integral part of people’s support networks. It is key that these experiences are at the centre of planning as we move forward, as the priority must be to get it right for people and their families and unpaid carers.
